Refrigerator Repair Manual

Below is a list of the things that I picked up from reading a refrigerator repair manual. I would like to share them with you and encourage you to follow it to prove to you that although the refrigerator is one of the top consumers of electricity, there are still ways on cutting it down.

1. Two door refrigerators are more expensive that single door refrigerators. 2. Use only a refrigerator that is just right for you. Underutilizing a fridge is a waste of energy but overutilizing it will make it work harder, hence, higher electricity consumption. 3. More functions, more electricity consumption. A refrigerator repair manual clearly pointed out that although new refrigerators that are coming out have more features, it only goes makes the electricity consumption worse. So before buying a refrigerator with all these features, think about whether you need it or not. If you can do without it, don't buy it. 4. Every refrigerator repair manual I've read always points out the importance of regularly testing the gasket by making sure it seals the door tight. A test you can do is placing a piece of thin paper on the door and then closing it. If you can easily pull out the paper, it means the edges aren't completely shut tight. That also means that you are consuming more energy than necessary. 5. Don't make it a habit to open the refrigerator. Remember that it consumes more energy when it is open. 6. Don't put warm or hot food or water. One, it is not good of the food itself and it also makes the refrigerator work harder. Let it cool first, then you can put it in.

I learned all of these things from reading a refrigerator repair manual so I suggest you take your time and do the same in the interest of low electricity consumption.
